Designed as a single-surface hang glider offering easy take-off and landing, great handling, and exhilarating soaring performance, the Piuma is perfect both for beginners and for more experienced pilots who enjoy relaxed flying.
Piuma was introduced in 2019 and it quickly became a favourite for its lightness, excellent stability and predictable behaviour.
This year, we have added some new features that further improve Piuma's performance and visual identity.

• The two nose-battens remain in position at all times, and the nose fairing is semi-automatic (manually-fastening the top Velcro strips is not necessary).
  
  
• Speed battens
  The definitive solution to trailing edge flutter.
  The small carbon-fibre battens on the trailing edge prevent flutter at high speeds, and they have long been a feature of our high-performance hang gliders such as the Laminar.
  We now install them on all our hang gliders, as they are very light, they solve the problems of trailing-edge flutter that can occur on any hang glider, and they have no adverse effects on handling.
  They are supplied as part of the kit of accessories included with the Piuma.
  The hang glider flies perfectly even without them, and the pilot can choose whether to use them or not, according to his or her preferred flying style.
  
  
• Only six battens to be inserted for each wing.
  
  
• Trailing edge leech line
  A detail that optimises sail tension throughout the glider's life.
  This cord can be used to regulate trailing edge tension, particularly when the sail gets older and its tautness begins to decrease.
  The leech line can be tensioned to ensure that the sail retains its exceptionally clean, tight surface.
  
  
• An efficient tail fin prevents Dutch roll, above all during tow-launching.
  The fin increases the hang glider’s stability, making it easier to fly straight.
  The fin is easy to stow in the cover when the glider is packed.
